
MGM Resorts has announced a new hotel collaboration with Marriott. Starting October 1st, the partnership, named the “MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy”, will be in effect.
This deal grants Marriott customers access to 12 MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas, as well as an additional 5 MGM Resorts properties in other locations around the US. In total, Marriott customers will have access to a total of 40,000 rooms across 17 MGM Resorts properties.
Marriott Bonvoy members will be able to make bookings, accumulate and use their Marriott Bonvoy points when staying at MGM Resorts properties.
Rumors have been circulating since MGM Resorts purchased Cosmopolitan that Marriott, who had been a partner with Cosmopolitan for some time before the purchase, would become a partner as well.
Bill Hornbuckle, president and chief executive officer of MGM Resorts, said in a news release that this agreement, which is historic and long-term, unites two of the most trusted and renowned brands in hospitality and entertainment.
Hornbuckle means to fasten or secure something with a buckle or clasp, typically for the purpose of making it easier to open and close.

MGM Rewards members can now link their accounts with Marriott Bonvoy, creating a two-way partnership that gives them access to benefits from the international hotel rewards program.
After announcing that it would end its partnership with MGM Resorts on September 30th, Hyatt has now announced a 20-year strategic licensing agreement that will take effect shortly.
Neither MGM Rewards nor Hyatt have provided details about how tier-matching will operate, which was one of the most well-liked benefits of their partnership.
The MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy includes 17 casino hotels in the US, as well as a few that will join the Cosmopolitan as part of a specific Marriott brand. This is all part of the Marriott Booking System.
MGM Resorts has announced that Aria will join the Autograph Collection of Cosmopolitan, Park MGM will be part of the Tribute Collection and Bellagio will be part of the Luxury Collection. The current Marriott and Cosmopolitan partnership will remain unchanged.
Certain MGM Resorts Las Vegas properties will be part of the “MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy,” which will allow customers to earn and redeem rewards points with Marriott Bonvoy.
Excalibur: A castle-themed resort located on the Las Vegas Strip.
Luxor: An ancient Egyptian-themed hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Mandalay Bay: An extravagant resort and casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
MGM Grand: A luxurious resort and casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
The Signature: An upscale all-suite hotel located adjacent to the MGM Grand.
New York-New York: A hotel and casino inspired by the New York City skyline.
NoMad (at Park MGM): A boutique hotel located inside Park MGM.
Vdara: A luxury all-suite hotel located adjacent to the Bellagio.
The “MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy” partnership also includes a handful of properties outside of Las Vegas, allowing guests to take advantage of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program.
Marriott Bonvoy and MGM Rewards will collaborate to offer members of both loyalty programs enhanced benefits and experiences.
Marriott Bonvoy members will be able to take advantage of benefits at properties that are part of the “MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy”. Similarly, MGM Rewards members will receive certain benefits at more than 8,500 Marriott Bonvoy properties.
Members of both the MGM Rewards program and the Marriott Bonvoy program will be able to exchange their points with each other; Rewards points can be exchanged for Bonvoy points, and Bonvoy points can be exchanged for Rewards points.
As October 1st draws nearer, the two companies will have more detailed information available regarding their partnership.
Marriott Bonvoy has entered into a loyalty marketing agreement with national sportsbook and online casino operator BetMGM. In the U.S. and Canada, Marriott Bonvoy will be the exclusive hospitality loyalty program partner of BetMGM, providing customers with enhanced benefits and rewards.
At present, there are limited details available, but the two companies have revealed some of the ways in which they will collaborate. BetMGM will give Marriott Bonvoy members the opportunity to earn Marriott Bonvoy points on certain BetMGM transactions.
Marriott Bonvoy members will have the opportunity to take part in special games and promotions with BetMGM, in addition to that.
With this agreement, members of the BetMGM Rewards program will be able to exchange their BetMGM Rewards points for Marriott Bonvoy points in a mutually beneficial manner.
The companies will provide more details about the hotel rewards partnership nearer to October 1st.
